About

Teaching and Research Interests:

I teach ANTH 204 (archaeology) ANTH 205 (biological anthropology), ANTH 237 (osteology), and ANTH 245 (primatology) at Tacoma Community College. My research examines the early ape and human fossil records where I use archaeological methods to answer questions about ancient behaviors in Eastern Africa. In my training, research, and work, I have been able to do archaeology and paleoanthropology in Washington, North Dakota, Czech Republic, Republic of Georgia, Russia, Kenya and Uganda. I love that my research draws together so many aspects of anthropology and that I am able to share anthropology with students at TCC.

Education:

  • Ph.D. University of Minnesota, 2018 Anthropology
  • M.A. University of Minnesota, 2012 Anthropology
  • B.A. Western Washington University 2006, Anthropology, Geology and Russian Language Minors
